§ 1051. Communicable Diseases

The facility administrator, in cooperation with the responsible physician, shall develop written policies and proce-dures specifying those symptoms that require segregation of an inmate until a medical evaluation is completed. At the time of intake into the facility, an inquiry shall be made of the person being booked as to whether or not he/she has or has had any communicable diseases or has observable symptoms of communicable diseases, including but not limited to, tuberculosis, other airborne diseases, or other special medical problem identified by the health authority. The re-sponse shall be noted on the booking form and/or screening device.
